Soccer is Life

Lisa is an athlete at Billy Green School in the new City of Hamilton, Ontario. Lisa submitted an essay on what soccer means to her. It is an excellant piece of work that may hit home with a lot or our own Sparta athletes. Lisa includes team mates, coaches, referees, spectators, injuries, being benched, winning and losing and the rules of the game.

Lisa will be presented with one of our Club medalions for her efforts. Thanks Lisa, job well done!

Volunteer Screening Policy

Hamilton Sparta has approved implementation of the Volunteer Screening Policy for all competitive coaches and executive members prior to the start of the 2003 season and for recreational coaches prior to the start of the 2004 season. The Volunteer Screen directive was initiated, approved and rolled out to the O.S.A. Membership at the November 2001 Annual Meeting. All Soccer Clubs in the Province of Ontario must comply with these guidelines. Hamilton Sparta's Voluntary Screen Policy was developed throughout 2002 and will be in place for the start of the 2003 outdoor season.
