Harassment Policy
1. All members of the Hamilton Sparta Soccer Club(players, team staff, executive) shall not be subjected to harassment or abuse by any other member or by family/associates of a member.
2. Harassment will be construed as any form of mentally or physically abusive behaviour; threat or intimidation; unwanted or inappropriate comments of a sexual nature; discrimination based on gender, colour, creed, ethnicity; taunting; continued vexatious comments.
3. The victim should follow these procedures in seeking a resolution to the problem
(i) inform the perpetrator directly, or in the case of a minor, through his/her parents, that the harassing behaviour is objectionable;
(ii) if the behaviour persists, or if unwilling to utilize step (i), inform the club president of you concerns, so that he/she can mediate or resolve the issue;
(iii) if unresolved, contact the Harassment Officer at the Hamilton and District Soccer Association;
(iv) if still unresolved, consult the O.S.A. Policy on the Internet (OntarioSoccerNet…Publications…OSA Policy: Section 11.0, Harassment Policy)
4. Any player, coach, team staff member, executive member, parent or associate found guilty of harassment by the executive committee shall be subject to consequences imposed by the executive up to and including dismissal from the Club.
