Dennis Zimmer founded Hamilton Sparta in 1965. The club has grown from a Senior Men's only club to a fully supported youth organization and senior women's Club. Dennis' work for the Club has benefited many children and adults over the years throughout Southern Ontario and Hamilton in particular. Dennis emigrated from Czechoslovakia in the 1950's and was a life time Sparta Prague fan. Dennis' love of the sport and Sparta Prague were key element in the founding of Hamilton Sparta. The club colour's Maroon and Black continue to this day. Hamilton Sparta was originally a Senior Men's team playing out of Robertson Irwin Steel on Parkdale Ave in Hamilton. As time went on youth teams were put together to meet the growing need of the community.
